July 4th Celebration
LCA's annual two day July 4th celebration at Spring Lake Park with food, games, music and, of course, spectacular fireworks!
  Date: July 3, 2009
    Task: Food Booth
      Volunteers are asked to manage the always popular snow cone, cotton candy and popcorn booth. Four volunteers are required per time slot.
    Task: Ticket Booth
      Volunteers are asked to help sell food and games tickets. Four volunteers are required per time slot

Lincolnshire 4th of July 5k
The Lincolnshire 4th of July 5k is a friendly 5k run/walk through the beautiful tree lined streets of Lincolnshire. It is only possible with the assistance of some great people. Many of the positions still allow you to run in the race. Those positions that are not able to run in the race have been noted below.
  Date: July 4, 2009
    Task: Water Station (in-race)
      These volunteers man the water station located along the race course. This task entails filling cups of water and providing them to the runners as they pass by. You also need to be able to give the runners lots of encouragement! These volunteers cannot run in the race.
    Task: Refreshment Preparation
      These volunteers prepare the refereshments for after the race. This includes cutting up food, filling water cups, etc. before the race starts.
    Task: Registration
      These volunteers assist individuals with registering for the race, picking up their packets, distributing the timing chips, answering questions, etc.
    Task: Data Entry
      These volunteers assist in entering the day-of-race registrations into the computer system. This requires fast and accurate typing.
    Task: Bike Timers
      These volunteers are stationed at each mile marker on the race course letting the runners know their current times. A bike is required to go quickly from the start line to the mile marker. These individuals cannot run in the race.
    Task: Finish Line
      These volunteers assist runners as they cross the finish line as well as collect the timing chips. These individuals cannot participate in the race.
    Task: Anything else
